Throughout COP26, our own Peter Willis will be talking to thought leaders about climate resilience in this daily video-podcast, hosted by the COP Resilience Hub.
In the sixth episode, Peter talks to Rev. James Bhagwan, General Secretary of the Pacific Council of Churches.
Through the lens of his own awakening to the climate crisis, Reverend James Bhagwan paints a picture of the challenges faced by the Pacific Islands, not only physically as the ocean around them changes, but also in being heard in the global policy discussions.
He emphasizes the pragmatism and deep-grained hopefulness of his compatriots, but knows that what happens in the Pacific may be the early warning that finally wakes up the global North.
