In this final episode of Daily COPpuccinos, Peter talks to Dr Juliet Mian, Executive Director of The Resilience Shift.


Juliet talks about the value of highlighting good examples of resilience. Covid-19 revealed a form of resilience far removed from infrastructure planning and modelling, namely how many people adopted the stance, “How can I help here?” – something few experts had modelled. Cape Town’s “˜Day Zero’ drought crisis also revealed how much collaboration and trust across sectors and demographics could emerge under pressure.

A resilience mindset is no single quality or skill set; it requires the humility to connect with and listen to multiple others and learn continuously.
